What should the penalty be for gun related shootings? Nobody talks about what the penalty for gun violent shootings should be. Every week we hear how many shootings there were over the weekend in the major cities, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and on, how many died or were wounded. The bible says in Matthew 5 vs 30 if the right hand caused you to sin, cut it off. In Saudi Arabia to be convicted of stealing can result in the cutting off of the hand. It’s also the law in other countries in the world.
What good is a gun that cannot be held in the hand? A hand with only five stubs after an industrial accident is actually reality for my father in law with a young family in the mid-forties. He could not hold a gun nor could he fire it. His handicap did not stop him from being a very productive man, nor did it stop him from doing some very intricate woodcrafts.
Some would say that’s too cruel. How about the wounded, what are they faced with for the rest of their lives? To lose one’s fingers is for the rest of one’s life to ponder on. Be it less incarceration, then one would be able to rehabilitate and if not, there is always more to lose.
Who would bring this up in the house as a new bill? It’s time to get tough, no more pussy footin’ around.
Helen Sabin says
. Accidents with guns involved are one thing but deliberate shootings or guns used in crimes that injure someone should result in the penalty of removal of the “offending part.” Why not? Do the crime, and this is the penalty. After a few hands are removed, the message will be sent. OR we could do like the show, BURN NOTICE, and Fiona who used to ask Michael .”Can I shoot them?” Total removal of criminals also solves crime or at least those of who are repeat offenders. This should be used more and more too.
