Re: Ms. Binkley’s ‘Setting Record Straight’

February 27, 2024 by Guest Post

by Doug Bohn, Victor

I attended the referenced meeting unlike Ms. Binkley, therefore I must correct the record.

Ms. Binkley states “Ms. Love made the false and baseless assertion…” This statement is designed to set up readers to conclude Ms. Love attacked Ms. Binkley without provocation. Not true, Ms. Love was responding to a direct question from the audience asking what set her apart from her opponent. Ms. Love answered honestly, forthright and without hostility or hesitation. Clearly stating that she believed her opponent’s actions were outside the confines of the Constitution. When pressed for an example, Ms. Love immediately cited Ms. Binkley’s vote in support of HB402. This FACT destroys Ms. Binkley’s claim that “she couldn’t cite a single example supporting this allegation.”

HB402 did indeed conflict with both the U.S. and Montana Constitutions. It was drafted to allow NON-CITIZENS to vote while their legal status is pending. Both referenced Constitutions REQUIRE registers to vote to be U.S. citizens. Montana law sets additional requirements, such as a minimum time of state residency and minimum age before one is allowed to vote. Even people born in Montana are required to PROVE U.S. citizenship BEFORE being allowed to register to exercise our most sacred right.

Ms. Binkley’s venomous attack of her opponent in defense of her public vote in support of legislation that undermines our God-given, Constitutionally protected rights as U.S. citizens, causes one to question her understanding of those rights. As an elected official, it is simply too late to claim ignorance. After all, she swore an oath to uphold and defend both documents.

I suggest that all government officials and hopefuls read and UNDERSTAND the documents that they swear to defend. Many of our heritage upheld that oath with their lives. I recommend that these documents be studied in chronological order. First is the Declaration of Independence. Here, the purpose of government is defined:

“That TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS, Governments are instituted among Men” (emphasis added).

The Declaration is the blueprint for our government, the Constitution is the fulfillment. So, when you are considering whom you will support in this upcoming election for ALL positions, consider who will bring the fight to secure your rights against those who would usurp them, fulfilling the FIRST DUTY of government. There was clearly one of those at the NVP meeting.

I was also at the same presentation Doug Bohn writes about with Ms Love and she told the crowd incorrect information about HB 402. That is why she was challenged about her statement and had to fumble for an answer when she learned that the bill was designed to STOP ILLEGALS FROM VOTING not to encourage them as she claimed! The sponsor of the bill, Dave Bedey happened to be there and explained about the bill and the national voter act and how the bill was designed to STOP illegals thus showing that Love hadn’t done her homework and felt out was lying about the bill. She looked like a child caught stealing a cookie or three with wide eyes and her brain chastising her, stating, “You lied and got caught!” Three people later said they had come to hear Love but now won’t vote for her when Bedey clearly showed that she is NOT a dependable honest candidate of the quality that Michele Binkley is.
