Mark Snider’s letter to the editor is really confusing. He writes that people who do not support the government’s plan to help the poor, visit those in prison and offer water to the thirsty are not true Christians and those that do support that plan are the real Christians.
My question for you is where in the Bible does it say the government is supposed to take your money at gun point (taxes you must pay or go to jail) and then the government is supposed to give it to the poor. In other words, take it from the owner and give it to someone they choose that is more deserving. It certainly is not in my Bible. Would like to know where it is in his Bible.
We are supposed to do those things ourselves and not be forced to by government. We are to give that service out of the goodness of our hearts not at the point of a gun. We grow and are blessed for doing that.
I will await your Bible reference that makes you a true Christian and those of us that believe in sharing our blessings out of love for our fellow man/woman CINOS or Christians in Name Only. Or could it be just the opposite?
