I find it interesting that the Montana Shooting Sports Association, a Libertarian organization, has now supported Doctor Al, after having endorsed Alan Lackey, who, in his own words, in an interview said he voted for “Climate Czar” DEMOCRAT John Kerry for President in 2004, and said that he was “ashamed to be a Life Member of the NRA”, all because of his dislike for George W. Bush. Is this the kind of track record that the Montana Shooting Sports Association is proud of? Surely, they know about this, right?
Perhaps Doctor Al should be more careful about accepting endorsements without having all the facts. The same holds true for the Montana Shooting Sports Association’s endorsement of Alan Lackey without knowing that he supports DEMOCRATS, and that he thought John Kerry’s Brady Bill contained “common sense gun control.” (By the way, it was ruled unconstitutional.) The article also alludes to both his negative energy expansion stance and his pro-environment stance. See the whole article at www.salon.com/2004/11/01/sportsmen/ and decide for yourself.

Ron you are proving to be a liar. You’ve been told that Alan did not vote for either Bush or Kerry in that election. He left it blank. You are purposely spreading lies for your own agenda. You should be ashamed of yourself. You serve on the Ravalli County Republican Central Committee and as a voice for the people of this county. You are a disgrace!!
You aren’t using your head supporting convention of states. You want our constitution completely eliminated?? If so you are headed in that direction. If you want to be ruled under communism?? If so you are headed in that direction.

RON – please correct your statement. Alan Lackey did NOT say he VOTED FOR Kerry, he said he was going to. I talked to Alan and he stated that he did NOT vote for KERRY! I take him at his word as much as I take you at yours. But you do NOT know that he did or didn’t so please stop saying and spreading misinformation please.
Wayne Rusk also stated that he has read the books by Rob Natelson, who is the foremost scholar on the Constitution as he has appeared in front of SCOTUS and is often quoted by them, and RUSK is in favor of and thinking about calling for a Convention of States if he wins in HD88. He has learned the lesson of the importance of education. Alan Lackey too will change his mind when he gets more education behind him on the importance of Article V. And like Alan, I did NOT like many things BUSH did when he was and wan’t president. We all say we will do such and such when we are upset about something in which we believe. For example I often say I wish folks would really learn about the Constitution and Article V and why we need a Convention of states to put term limits on congress. I curse many of them every time I read that they spent another TRILLION dollars as if money grows on threes.
How about we just calm down, see how the election turns out and then support the winner? Do you know about article V and the differences between it and a Constitutional Convention? Do you know why there cannot be a run away convention which is a myth spread about it like is being done by many ignorant souls in this valley? Do you know what the checks and balances and safeguards the Founding Fathers put on the thought of changing the Costitution?
Instead of using something that was said years ago, let’s hear what Alan has to say today shall we?
Here is not his exact words but the intent of his words: I will uphold the Constitution of the United States, I will work for the people that I represent, and I will be faithful to the morals and values and our way of life. That’s good enough for me Ron….it hope that it should be good enough for you.
