Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton said negotiations with the 35-year-old male barricaded in a home at Farm View Estates in Corvallis continued late into the evening Tuesday and have progressed since early Wednesday morning. The armed suspect has refused to surrender up to this point, and due to the significant threat to the public additional homes were evacuated Wednesday morning. The subject is currently wanted for both misdemeanor and felony charges.
The RCSO continues to be patient due to the mental health aspects of this situation, and give the suspect every opportunity to surrender peacefully. The suspect has been barricaded for over 48 hours at the time of this release. The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office has provided both personnel and equipment to assist as the operation continues.
Sheriff Holton again thanked the residents of Farm View Estates for their patience and understanding over the last three days. He also thanked Missoula County Sheriff Terry McDermott and his personnel for their assistance.
Sheriff Holton stated, “Our number one priority is to negotiate the safe surrender of this suspect without anyone getting hurt. That said, the suspect has to make the decision to cooperate and no one can make that decision for him.” The RCSO negotiators have worked diligently to establish rapport and coordinate a safe plan for the suspect to surrender.
More information will be released as the situation continues.

Gun nuts cost us not only 38k deaths a year but also a significant economic toll and an extraordinary societal toll.
If this is what it costs to keep the 2nd Amendment, then we are fools.
