Overstepping

You face an unparalleled opportunity to lead our great town of Stevensville in a new and better direction. You are smart and articulate which is just what you need to be in your position as mayor.

But it is apparent after attending some council meetings that maybe now would be a good time to revisit the rules and guidelines that govern your position by mandate.

You are making decisions for the town on your own when according to the “charter” you are not supposed to. Your position as mayor is basically one of a figurehead, that is bound by the “charter” to implement and carry out their wishes.

If I have misread the “charter” please feel free to enlighten me. I would appreciate a written reply.
