The Lady Falcons took down the No. 2 team in the Northwest A conference in non-conference overtime action last week. Florence was up against a taller, more physical team but held their own and dropped in nine point in overtime while holding the Lady Broncs to only four points in the 51-46 win. Freshman Danielle Zahn had 17 points to pace Florence.

Hamilton fell to Dillon, 48-39, in Southwest A action. Hamilton had the lead at the half but Dillon came back and played solid defense in the third quarter, holding the Lady Broncs to only nine points while dropping in 16. A highlight of the game was the end of the first quarter shot by Bailey Beeriochoa of Dillon who made a basket from beyond the half court line. Kloie Nye had 11 points and Jordan Bauder added 10 from inside for the Lady Broncs who now have a 3 and 4 conference record.

Corvallis nearly knocked off one of the top teams in the state, the Columbia Falls WildKats. The two teams played a close game throughout the first half. Although it was a non conference game, the two teams may end up meeting each other next week at the Western A Divisional in Butte. Freshman Calla Haldorson led the Blue Devils with 12 points.

Corvallis had another tough game on Saturday against the conference leading Butte Central Maroons. Butte Central came out on fire, scored 39 points in the first half, and went on to win, 69-35. Corinne Sanderson had nine points to lead Corvallis.

The Lady Yellowjackets of Stevensville came on strongly in the fourth quarter but it was just a few points too little as they fell to Loyola, 54-51. Although they came out strongly in the first quarter, Stevensville dug themselves a hole in the second and had to come back. The Breakers shut down Makayla Davids’ outside shot and held her to only one point. Mariah Hinson led the Stevi scoring with 13 points.

Darby lost a couple of games over the weekend. They fell to Clark Fork, 56-36. Freshman Casey Ehmann dropped in 17 points to lead all scorers in the game.

Seeley Swan is the top girls team in District 13C. Darby got off to a slow start but then came back to push the Blackhawks a little. Seeley-Swan won, 59-38. Peyton Muir scored 10 points to lead Darby.
