Our Savior Lutheran Church of Stevensville celebrates its 60th anniversary on Sunday, June 29th. Through thick and thin the Lord has blessed the congregation of Our Savior with faithful pastors who, led by the Holy Spirit, fed the Lord’s flock at Our Savior with pure teaching of the Gospel and right administration of the Sacraments.
The congregation of Our Savior is fully aware that in rocky times the Lord gave us strong lay people who relied on Word alone, faith alone, and grace alone, to guide us until the Holy Spirit sent a strong pastor who plainly taught Christ crucified for our salvation. Sent us a man who preached God’s Word, not his own.
God’s Word is the only way God’s people will always remember that it is not our works which bring about our reconciliation with God, but Christ’s work on the Cross. The Word reminds us every day that it is only by God’s gracious gift of His Son that we undeserving sinners are saved. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
The people of Our Savior are grateful that we have been abundantly blessed through sixty years of God’s loving kindness. To God be the glory.
Worship, as always, is at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday school and Bible class. But between times, we will celebrate our 60 years of God’s grace. As Lutherans, we feel it is totally necessary to celebrate any wonderful event with refreshments. Therefore, there WILL be cake! Please join us!
Our Savior, located at 184 Pine Hollow Road, is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. To find the church, head south from Stevensville on the Eastside Highway. One mile past the intersection of Main Street and Middle Burnt Fork Road, turn east on Pine Hollow. Cross the tracks and the canal, and the church will be on your left, marked by three crosses.
