Myrtle Nelson Miller and Lewis Franklin Miller

Lewis “Lew” Miller passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2000 in Missoula after 62 years of marriage.
Myrtle “Myrt” Miller passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Billings.
Lew was born in Stevensville, MT on April 20, 1913 and Myrt was born in Stanley, ND on October 30, 1918. They were married in 1937 and they resided at the family ranch in Stevensville which Lew managed. They raised Angus cattle, Tennessee Walking Horses and farmed and ranched. They built a home and lived in Polson for a time where they were members of several clubs. Myrt enjoyed her flowers and garden. Lew opened a lapidary shop/museum where he displayed his artifacts and rock work. They retired to the Three Mile area in Stevensville in 1985. Together they enjoyed their family and friends, also music, reading and gardening. Myrt enjoyed raising African Violets and painting. Her family and friends have many beautiful treasured paintings. Lew made rock tables and jewelry also treasured by family and friends.
They were preceded in death by their youngest son, Donald Lee, Roger’s wife Donna and grandson, Robbie. They are survived by sons, Douglas (Evelyn) and Roger; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
To fulfill their final wishes, a memorial celebration of their lives will be held at the Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2 p.m.
