By Michael Howell

Valley residents got a chance to preview some Christmas ornaments produced locally, but according to national standards, that may be placed upon “the People’s Tree” that will grace the lawn in front of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. this winter. A parade and other festivities are planned. More...

Nine-year-old Hunter DeBrito (l) and her eight-year-old sister, Hudsyn (r), were both awarded special blue ribbons at the Ravalli County Fair this year for the ornaments they produced as part of the Stevensville Ornament Workshop, which is producing ornaments to be placed upon the Capitol Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. this winter.

Grandmother of the Blue Ribbon winners, Sharon DeBrito, also produced an ornament for the tree, participating on behalf of the Stevensville Art and Sculpture Society. A selection of DeBrito’s other art work, portraits of children in watercolor, will be on exhibit at Rocky Mountain Bank in Stevensville through September.

That vote, however, suffered from what is being called a procedural error, leading two councilors to ask for a reconsideration of the issue. More...

“For how long?” she asked.

“I don’t know,” Milless replied, a smile crossing his face. “But find a place to take real estate and property management tests and whatever I pass, that’s what I’ll do.” More...
