Citizens get first look at draft zoning regs

The citizens of Ravalli County have had a chance to see Draft B of the countywide zoning regulations and had suggestions for the consultants who developed them.

About 14 people braved the cold Fridayfor the City of Hamilton Arbor Day celebration. The group planted three Burr Oak trees and various juniper bushes around the City Bandshell. Hamilton was also awarded the Tree City USA designation for the sixth straight year. First open lands project on table

The Ravalli County open lands program has its first project on the table.

Last week, Joe Grover, in partnership with the Bitter Root Land Trust, filed pre-submission forms to the Ravalli County rural land program coordinator, Vanessa Morrell. Grover is working with the land trust and the county to place a conservation easement on 840 acres of his Sawtooth Ranch, west of Hamilton. More...

Investigation into paper shredding initiated

The Town of Stevensville has taken steps to address concerns raised in the wake of the abrupt departure of longstanding town clerk, Nancy Lowell. In response to rumors of possible misappropriation of funds, the Town has procured the services of an auditing firm from Missoula to conduct an internal audit of the Town’s finances. It has also employed former state auditor and Stevensville resident Craig Shepard to assist in performing duties such as the monthly billing. More...
