Lone Rock School to get ‘solarized’

County to Florence Water and Sewer District: enough is enough; settle your own disputes

In a 10-page letter from the Ravalli County Attorney’s Office to the Florence County Water and Sewer District, Deputy County Attorney Karen Mahar answers nine questions submitted to the office concerning circumstances within the District over the past year and then politely suggests that if they have any further questions they should direct them to a private attorney rather than further burden the county as they have. County to consider adopting changes to subdivision regulations

The three outgoing County Commissioners Carlotta Grandstaff, Kathleen Driscoll and Jim Rokosch outvoted the two mid-term Republican Commissioners, J.R. Iman and Greg Chilcott, last week by a vote of 3 to 1 and set a date for a public hearing for consideration of some proposed changes to the county’s subdivision regulations. The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, December 23, at 10 a.m. at the commissioners’ meeting room in the County Administration building. More...


Blacksmith Brewing Company wins award

Blacksmith Brewing Company won the Brewer’s Choice award at the annual contest judged by the brewers themselves. This year’s top brew, Amarillo I.P.A., was concocted by Mike Howard, who has been working at the Blacksmith Brewery since it opened in Stevensville two and a half years ago. Nineteen brewers from around the state competed with 37 different styles of beer. More...

Spreadbury files another lawsuit

Michael Spreadbury, who has one lawsuit against Hamilton City Attorney Ken Bell pending before the Montana Supreme Court, filed another one against Bell last month. The latest charges have to do with a request for information made by Spreadbury to the City of Hamilton. The City and Mayor Jerry Steele are also listed as parties in the lawsuit. More...
