Young lady on a mission

Savannah Conover 9, a 4th grader at Stevensville Elementary School, was looking for a way to do something good for her community, so about a year ago she decided to have a "one man" bake sale and with those proceeds purchased personal care items for the local food bank. She had enough to buy 33 pounds of items. She placed donation boxes in the various businesses in the Stevensville area and asked for donations. When she asked for a donation from the local Missoula Federal Credit Union, they donated $150 to her cause. She started buying shampoos, toothpastes, tooth brushes, lotions, soap and numerous other personal care items and this time had 133 pounds to bring to Pantry Partners. She says she likes to do good things for other people and has enjoyed this endeavor of hers. She lives with her grandmother, Kelly Conover, who is her dedicated support system for this project. She will continue to get donations and carry on with this generous venture of hers.
