Researching candidates for MT SD 43, incumbent Pat Connell, has a voting record of F and is known as a Republican Democrats can count on and needs to be replaced. Being at all of the State Republican events this past year, Pat did not represent us at any. Review of the candidate financial filings confirms that over half of his $8,457 in contributions came from special interest PAC’s and lobbyists. Newcomer to legislative matters, Jason Ellsworth, has spent $43,547 of his own money, more than four times of any other State Senate candidate has reported no outside contributions.
All of this confirms why I am voting for Scott Roy McLean whose modest contributions of $3,264 have come from friends and family and haven’t enabled him to advertise as the other two candidates have done. His grassroots approach of knocking on doors and talking to voters about what matters to them is inspiring. He is honest and stands tall for what he believes. Scott served as a law clerk in DC where he tried to halt Obamacare. He is an attorney, volunteer firefighter, general counsel for the Montana Young Republicans and ready to step into the State Senate and represent us.
