The silence is deafening. Reaching for clarity, one could express it as painful. That’s because silence is the nose ring of control. Being in Montana we all are acquainted with the bull’s nose ring and its purpose.
The presence of silence is itself acknowledgement by those behind it that whoever is on the other side presents a threat to them. In their view the greatest threat to their success, whatever the goal, is justification.
If knowledge of a circumstance is minimized so is the demand for justification. Justification is the Pin that holds the entire thing together.
Denied justification those being controlled will feel the impact of submission as their role evolves from that of Citizen to Subject. Suddenly controls are established that inhibit any analysis by those it affects. Questions are such that the response is guaranteed to make the inquirer appear to be the “Village Idiot”. A moment of reflection will reveal the pulling on the figurative nose ring.
Being a member of the group of Subjects in the Bitterroot Valley could, actually, should, make those folks uncomfortable. But it doesn’t. They have accepted the fact that if something is unrecognized they don’t have to deal with it, and they just go on their way.
When reality comes home the weeping is loud, clear and sustained.
The Subjects must comply with the direction of the Rulers.
Guess Who Is Who.
