The MHSA Cross Country Championship takes place this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Amend Park in Billings. All four classifications (Class AA, A, B, and C) compete on the same day, on the same route.

For the Bitterroot schools, Corvallis, Stevensville, and Hamilton compete in Class A, Darby and Florence compete in Class B, and Victor competes in Class C.

As a final preparation for the state meet last week, the Class A schools were at the Western A Fall Classic in Bigfork, while Darby, Florence, and Victor were at the B/C Invitational in Thompson Falls.

Darby’s Ben Martin has had a great season and has the potential for a top five finish in the Class B Boys race. Also in the Class B boys race, Florence’s Seba Schroeder is looking to make a top ten finish.

The Class A girls field is exceptionally strong this year. Hamilton’s Aleigha Child has the potential for a top six finish, and expect Hamilton’s Reecelyn Walthall and Maevie Child to potentially break into the top ten.

For the Class A boys, Corvallis’ Jeremy Davidson and Braden Anderson, and Hamilton’s Benjamin Beare will have a shot at a top ten finish.
