The Ravalli County Planning Department is inviting public comment on floodplain application FA-26-14 for work proposed within the FEMA regulated floodplain of the Bitterroot River. The applicant is David Clay. The project is proposing to construct a 50’x72’ non-residential building using post and frame construction. The building will be used for dry storage and includes an elevated entertainment space. The project site is located at 164 Belle Fluer Drive, Florence on Lot 8 of Meadow Vista Tracts Tax ID: 1430800 in Section 01, Township 10 North, Range 20 West, Ravalli County. Detailed information regarding this application is available for review at the Ravalli County Planning Department at 215 S 4th St, Suite F in Hamilton. Written comments may be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed (planning@rc.mt.gov) and must be received by August 26, 2026 (Reference Application #FA-26-14).

elevated entertainment space– so that means power, septic system, and water well all within regulated floor plain zone??? How will that not impact the “health” of waterway and soils?? Wisdom gave way for the formation of floodplain regulation along with associated values to maintain a quality standard of living for humans, to include all animals that need a healthy environment to “live”! Let’s not continue to the destruction of nature by granting waivers by “leaders” who campaigned on the importance of what we value.
