Secy. of War, Pete Hegseth, says women have had the vote for 100 years. “That’s enough”. His Pastor says “too wishy washy, a vote should be a household vote” decided by the “man” of the house.
These two clowns did not know my mother, my sisters, my daughter or my granddaughters. They should be relieved it is unlikely they will not encounter them . They would be badly embarrassed for spewing such drivel They’d be way in over their ever opened mouths.
There are 70+ million unmarried women in this country over the age of 18. No “man” in those “houses”. Many by choice, others by death of a spouse and yet others by divorce (a choice). Does denying them the vote sound the least bit democratic or does it simply sound misogynistic, chauvinistic and repulsive?
This is where extremism aligns itself so blatantly with authoritarianism. Good luck boys !!!!
If you vote for character, this is easily a defining issue for you. If you vote ideology over character it probably says a lot about unaddressed insecurities . You best stay away from strong women.

Helen,
It seems you are correct and thank you for the correction. While I can not verify the exact quote, I will chalk my mistake up to Trumpian vagueness of non verification ; “they say Hegseth said…….”.
It IS verified that Hegseth did share a video of his Pastor, Doug Wilson, calling for a repeal of the 19th Amendment, commenting at the end of it, “Amen”. I construe that as concurrence with ending women’s right to vote as the video calls for a “household vote after conversation with the family, should be cast by the head of the household”. And, in SOME Christian households, it is pretty clear that vote will not be, regardless the “conversation”, cast by a woman.
Additional support for that conclusion would be the “clarification” about his sharing of that video from the Pentagon, that “Hegseth disagrees with revoking women’s right to vote”, despite his praise for the video and his close ties to Wilson’ church.
Last I checked Hegseth, as Secretary of War (his renaming/branding of the former cabinet office, Secretary of Defense, is in charge of the Pentagon. There can be no doubt Hegseth is running the Pentagon with the iron fist of who? Looks like the iron fist of Pastor Wilson, even more than the fist of the President, whose glowing post of himself as a doctor in a Jesus costume, healing the sick.
“THEY SAY” some Christians are upset with both Hegseth and the President for their actions. But Helen, I have no idea who “THEY” are. Such is the world we live in.

JOHN – Thomas Jefferson did NOT think that a woman should hold a public office and that is nothing new in the view of women’s roles in society. Many men think that women should only be homemakers and nothing else. However, I couldn’t find any credible record of Pete Hegseth saying that “women have had the vote for 100 years and that’s enough.”
That exact quote doesn’t appear in verified transcripts, interviews, or reliable reporting. Please post your source for your statement will you please?
Men’s attitudes toward women show a lack of education and NOT being taught that there are many competent women in the work foce and in religion too but I can’t find anything attributed to Hegeseth. .
