Rep. David Bedey is a respected Republican member of the Montana House and has a long and impressive resume. His article in the Star and other papers states without hesitation that the claim of fraud in the 2020 election lacks credible evidence and that the request of a special session of the Montana Legislature to create a “special select committee” to investigate election fraud would thus be a waste of our money. He cites the following to support his view of the question: “vote counting machines that cannot be connected to the internet and thus cannot be hacked”; “scholars at the conservative Hoover Institution” which have debunked the idea of a conspiracy; and finally, a recount in Idaho that “conclusively repudiates” the idea of election fraud. I am sure he could mention other sources of information to support his conclusion that it is “past time to let this go.”
I disagree with Representative Bedey. I could argue that a submission of an article to the Hoover Institution of a mathematical and statistical based analysis of the 2020 vote is insufficient or that the recount of two of the smallest counties in Idaho with total votes of 1406 and 674 respectively should be ignored but that would be wrong. I believe that all relevant information should be very carefully examined and evaluated and presented to a grand jury for their consideration, exactly as I would expect to happen if a monstrous crime was suspected of happening to a population of millions of American citizens.
We have been told that the very mention of massive voter fraud is outrageous and part of a “baseless conspiracy” and recklessly undermines the public’s trust in the 2020 election. Some even insist that those that spew such hateful ideas should be censored, their voices never to be heard. The companies that make the voting machines have even reportedly threatened those who would suggest their equipment might produce false results with lawsuits of a billion dollars or more. That brings me to a concluding part of my argument.
Crimes are many times committed by very intelligent and dedicated people. The perfect crime allows for their escape from justice and so the trail of evidence may not be immediately uncovered. Two individuals who have recently found some evidence you may be interested in are Doug Gould and Dr. Walter C. Daugherity. They have published the findings of their investigation of the Mesa County, Colorado electronic voting systems. The headline of their submission is “Dominion Guilty of Election Crimes.” The study was published on March 22, 2022 so you may not have been aware of this. It doesn’t appear that the news media thinks this is important but you might. To read this landmark report, open your computer and Google “dominion guilty of election crimes”. After you have read it, you may agree with me that the declarations about no connection to the internet and no manipulation of votes and the cleanest election in history are in serious need of reconsideration. In light of this development, do you think a “select committee” should be created in Montana? Should we find out if what happened in Colorado may have occurred here? I would hope the answer is YES. I believe “the cat is out of the bag” and the massive fraud that was the 2020 election will gradually unfold before our eyes.

You’re just going to have to escape the inescapable truth, Bill: trump and every other Republican won in Ravalli County. I know it’s a hard pill to swallow, and you’re probably wondering what your fellow Bitterrooters were thinking that they would vote for a twice-impeached, six-time bankrupt, twice-divorced con man, but as soon as you accept the sad truth and move on, you’ll be happier.

Good luck with that. Every claim of widespread, massive election fraud proposed by the right has been unequivocally shown to be complete bull pucky. The fact is Donald Trump lost, which makes Donald Trump a loser. Let it go already.
