Bridger Chambers finished second in the world in the steer wrestling at the PRCA National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas on Saturday. The Stevensville cowboy was one of only five steer wrestlers who threw all 10 steers. The top 15 in the world compete in this prestigious event. Chambers threw all 10 steers in 57.20 seconds and pocketed $54,576.92.
Chambers tied for third and fourth in the first round of the 10 day event with a time of 4 seconds flat. He was third in the fifth round with a time of 3.7. He tied for 5/6 in Round 7 with 3.8 and was second in Round 8 with another 3.8. On his final run, in Round 10, he was in a three-way tie for second with 4.6. This all added up to winnings of $216,761.68 for the year.
Another Bitterroot cowboy, Caleb Bennett, finished sixth in the bareback riding with winnings of $240,389.73 for the year. Bennett just moved to the Corvallis area.
