I have a ballot in front of me with names and school improvements to vote for. The ballot is informative on the bond information, but gives nothing more than names for the trustee candidates.
I called the Bitterroot Star asking for information on the candidates. The only information that was given to me was who the incumbents are, and there is NOTHING published in this paper regarding those candidates’ viewpoints. I was told perhaps the Ravalli Republic has info on them.
This paper is OUR paper, and should have this important information. Why hasn’t information been put out for this important decision? I’m quite disappointed by this incredible omission.
If you go the Ravalli Republic website and type in the candidate’s names, you’ll find info on them pertaining to this.
I urge everyone to do this; this is a critical decision regarding our education system. Further, if you’re one of the people who complain about schools not having enough money to do the job correctly, but vote against these bonds, I urge you to strongly reconsider your vote intent. For a few pennies a day, this is your chance to help make schools better. I will gladly do without a $5 fancy coffee once in a while to help our children have a better educational experience.
Thank you, and please be an educated and smart voter. Please.
