Our greatness is under attack

August 23, 2017 by Guest Post

This is my hand being extended as a friend. We do the best we can most of the time. Sometimes we make an error and this is that time. But, in the beginning and the end we are all in this together. What government does to me, it also does to you.

I am afraid of this government. These people that are in office now have an agenda and I don’t believe the glory of this agenda will belong to you and me. I have learned in recent years “ask the questions,” don’t just accept the rhetoric as gospel. Its OK to listen to opinion, verify with facts. I love the freedom this country has given me.

Five generations of my family will attend public school if the school system is not destroyed. It is under attack. The food we buy in the store is safe to eat but we may be kissing that goodbye. We are guaranteed clean water and air by our state constitution, under attack.

Koch Bros family foundation has given money to MSU to study the effects of deregulation. We have public lands that we enjoy. Under attack! Some think it’s better in private hands. I like the feds taking care of things that belong to us, the American public. In their hands we still have a say in what happens. In private hands, we the people will be closed off. It will belong to its owner. I don’t want people to grab public lands for their own purpose such as cattle ranchers who seem to thinks it’s their right. If you’re lucky enough to get to use it, you should never forget it is not yours, it’s ours and treat it as such. And I don’t trust most people to make decisions for me when there is a lot of money to be made. I know, myself and you will be on the losing end of that.

Our military shouldn’t be used like toy soldiers to appease someone who shoots from the hip without thinking about consequences. Immigration is for “your tired masses and your poor,” not for your very rich and highly educated. I’ve never had so much bull fly in my face ever before.

Our right to vote, “under attack.” There are some who think we are too stupid to vote the right way. Their way.

Freedom of religion, under attack. Some people want us to have their religion and it isn’t Muslim. Our right to choose about family size, “under attack.”

I want the federal government to take care of our wildlife. Under attack. Not “sportsmen,” hunters and trappers, gun and ammo sellers or people that make any business off wildlife, RMEF, Cabella’s. etc. I do not want my wildlife being commercialized.

We live in paradise and we are throwing it away with both hands. I love the freedom we have just being Americans and Montanans. I am proud to pay my taxes. If added to yours we do many things in the name of humanity and for each other in times of need, we fight fires, help pick up after tornadoes and hurricanes. I am proud to vote. I study the issues, candidates and try to do the best I can. Yes, I am proud to be an American.

America is great! Don’t destroy her.
