October was breast cancer awareness month and MDMH encouraged local men (Mammo Men) to raise funds for mammograms by wearing costumes and seeking donations. 2014 was another great year for Sapphire Lutheran Homes’ Mammo Man team comprised of Lee Goldman and myself. Lee wrote another original rap song, and he as “MC Mammo” and I as “Life-Sava-Save,” traveled around the valley performing for local organizations and businesses. We raised over $1,500 and could not have done it without the great people of this valley. We would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for welcoming us in and permitting us to entertain and solicit their patrons: Corvallis Merc, Corvallis Tavern, Bitterroot Brewery, Sawmill Saloon, Dotson’s Bar, Higher Ground Brewery, Eagle’s Club, Elk’s Club, Banque Club, Silver Coin, The Edge, Fiesta En Jalisco, Hamilton High School, Corvallis High School, Darby High School. This is just another example of the generosity that exists in the people of Ravalli County, a place I am proud to call home.
