LIBRARY DIRECTOR, The Board of Trustees of the North Valley Public Library (NVPL) in historic Stevensville, Montana, is now accepting applications for the position of Library Director. The North Valley Public Library was the first independent library district in Montana and has an active Friends group. The library has a service area of over 10,000 patrons, has a collection of over 45,000 items and circulates nearly 79,000 items per year. The Library Director manages all aspects of library administration, subject to the direction of the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will have an MLS from an ALA-accredited university and administrative work experience. Specifically, the applicant should have demonstrated abilities in collection development; customer service; personnel and financial management; program development; business and library technologies and applications; public relations and fund-raising. The new director will be responsible for moving forward with plans for a new library building. Vision, organization, and excellent communication skills are therefore essential attributes for the position. This is a full-time (40 hour) position with salary beginning at $37,440.
