The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring an emergency exercise at the Corvallis High School on Wednesday, December 11. The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Corvallis School District, Corvallis Rural Fire District, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Ravalli County Office of Emergency Management and the National Institutes of Health to conduct the exercise.
The scenario for the drill is an active shooter incident that results in numerous victims at the Corvallis High School. The exercise will provide emergency responders and school staff an opportunity to practice plans for school lockdown, rescue and medical triage of victims, and post-emergency reunification of students with parents.
The exercise will start at approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday and it should be completed by 5 p.m. During the exercise there will be emergency response vehicles and personnel at the school and area immediately surrounding the Corvallis High School.
The public is advised to stay away from the Corvallis High School during this drill so as to not interfere with emergency exercise activities.
For more information on the exercise, contact Sheriff Chris Hoffman at 375-4060.
