Dear Editor,
When the Los Angeles City Council, who represents almost 10,000,000 people, voted unanimously to support Move to Amend’s resolution calling on Congress to amend the Constitution to clearly establish that only living persons, not corporations, are endowed with constitutional rights and that money is not the same as free speech, I was filled with hope. Americans are moving forward from the grassroots saying ‘enough is enough’!
With elections looming we are seeing, once again, how our ‘representatives’ are being bought and are representing those corporations who give them money. I hope our community will step up to take a stand and place this resolution on the ballot.
