Commissioners tour proposed land swap property

By Michael Howell

The Ravalli County Commissioners, along with state land managers and county residents, toured the area of a proposed land swap between CB Ranch owner Craig Barrett and the US Forest Service last week. The commissioners expressed support for the land swap in a meeting last December. The most recent tour has not changed that consensus. More...

Best of Parade. Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital was the overall winner in this year’s Fair Parade. The Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital (MDMH) parade team set their goal to be in first place this year and, “We did it,” said Ashley Ballance, a member of the parade committee. “Back Yards and Barn Yards” was the parade theme. The winning entry featured many things that you would find in your backyard, including “Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital with Quality Healthcare Close to Home.” The float featured six Auxiliary members (Pink Ladies) hoisting very large MDMH service flowers, surrounded by vegetables and flowers. The float was cheerfully decorated in the Marcus Daly blue and white colors and covered with flowers that promoted the many services the hospital has to offer. The float was pulled by a pickup truck that was especially decorated for the beautiful Marcus Daly Garden Queen and Queenette. The float concluded with a shining ambulance rig with blue and white balloon flowers attached. The entry was bannered with, “Working Together to Build a Healthier Community” and the staff, with lots of enthusiasm, gave away nearly 4000 Lifesavers and shared a poem along the entire parade route. Cody and Clover also won Best Costume, Most Talented and Best of Show in the Medium Dog category. The event was sponsored by the Stevensville Main Street Association. Anderson is looking at a deadline of December 30 for meeting the conditions required in order to file the final plat on the subdivision, although that timeline could be extended. More...
