Planned wolf hunt stopped in its tracksBy Michael Howell With the stroke of a pen last Friday, Federal District Court Judge Donald Molloy brought to a halt planned, licensed, public wolf hunts in the states of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. In a 40-page ruling released just after 4 p.m. on July 18, Molloy granted a preliminary injunction that effectively reinstates the Gray Wolf’s protection under the federal Endangered Species Act. The wolves will remain on the list of federally protected species until the court case filed by a dozen environmental groups challenging the removal of the Gray Wolf from the list is resolved. Hansen was the first emergency care physician hired at the Hospital in 1983. He said that back in those days patients might pay with a cord of wood or some garden vegetables.
