Where is all the water going? town wonders

The Stevensville Town Council has received a partial draft of a preliminary engineering report about the town¹s water system prepared by Professional Consultants Inc. The report is meant to cover the basics of what the town has in terms of its current water system as well as look at projected needs over a 20-year period. Based on census figures and projected trends, the town of Stevensville is expected to have a population of 2,900 in the year 2025, according to Tom Hansen of PCI, who is preparing the report. The U.S. Forest Service tapped some young minds at Lone Rock School recently to devise some plans for improving the Willoughby 40 study area, a 40-acre site managed by the Forest Service for the purposes of conservation education. County inches toward subdivision regulation changes

Following on the heels of a public hearing on May 17 about proposed changes to the county's subdivision regulations, the Commissioners held a work session to fine tune some of the language in sections dealing with the county road standards. In addition to Road Department and Land Services Department personnel, Fred Thomas was on hand, representing the County's insurance carrier. More...
