Hundreds of fourth graders from valley schools converged on the Meyer Ranch east of Stevensville for the Fourth Grade Farm Fair, where they got a lesson in where our food comes from and related information about agricultural production and farm life, at a series of 16 stations staffed by volunteer "experts." Here, they learn how apple trees are grafted. Other stations included how to care for farm animals, braid twine into rope, how to shoe a horse and rope a steer, how water is used for irrigation, and much more. They were also treated to a barbeque of hamburgers made from local beef. Michael Howell photo.
