Stevi Council woes continue; investigation of mayor considered

     The Stevensville Town Council heard a letter from the Secretary of the Park Board, Judith Loring, at the March 24 council meeting, wondering why she wasn't informed about or invited to the recent meeting of the newly formed Park Board.

Peace Post sabotaged

     Bitterroot Peace Keepers have sponsored a vigil for peace regularly on Friday evenings at the Peace Post located across from the Creamery between 4th and 5th Streets in Hamilton. The post bore inscriptions for the word "peace" in six different languages. Sometime last Saturday night, the Peace Pole was cut down with a chainsaw, according to Peace Keeper and regular vigil attender Jack Kerny.

Pantry partners with school

     Pantry Partners already is planning ahead for its community garden and is partnering with the Stevensville School After School Program to get even more vegetables, fruits and flowers in the garden on Park Street this summer.

Pantry Partners sets open house

     Pantry Partners Food Bank will share its new facility at 616 Park Ave. with the community at an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on April 4. There will be a ribbon cutting, tours and refreshments, according to Kathy Belke, chairman of the board.
