Job Description:
1) Train and teach every handicapped student within the resource room and in the regular education classroom using appropriate accommodations.
2. Test and report testing results of students referred through the approved referral process.
3. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans.
4. Conduct CST/IEP meetings.
5. Supervise and train special education paraprofessionals
6. Teach curriculum as outlined by the Stevensville School District.
7. Meet the diverse needs of students by providing an appropriate learning environment through effective classroom management and behavior expectations.v
8. Provide quality instruction by planning effective lessons and employing effective teaching strategies and activities.
9. Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.
10. Participate in school and district professional development activities.
Qualifications:
1. Must hold current 95 or 98 Special Education Endorsement and Montana Elementary Certification.
2. Must be able to train and teach high needs students with serious academic delays and/or behavior problems.
Possible after school activities or coaching available.

Responsibilities:
1. Organize academic, recreation, and enrichment program components
2. Train and supervise After School program staff
3. Maintain all records required by the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant
4. Coordinate and consult regularly with Stevensville Elementary School staff.
5. Meet with advisory committee to evaluate program on a regular basis
6. Foster positive communications with all stake holders.
Requirements:
1. Current Montana Elementary Teaching certification recommended.
2. Demonstrated success working with children in a school or other setting.
3. Previous experience with After School Program or similar program.
4. Excellent organizational skills required.
5. Previous supervisory experience helpful.v
Position requires 30 hours (6 hours per day, approximately 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.) per week. Salary commensurate with experience. Health insurance included.
