County awards legals contract to Star after all

On Thursday, January 13, the Ravalli County Commissioners voted to rescind a December 27 vote that awarded the legal advertising contract to the Ravalli Republic newspaper and to instead award the bid to the Bitterroot Star. More...

Stevi water and sewer users not paying

It was revealed at the January 10 Stevensville Town Council meeting that close to 20 percent of the water and sewer bills for town residents were going unpaid, with the Town left sitting on $57,433 in unpaid bills thirty days past due or more. Town Clerk Roni Kimp expressed concern that the failure of the water and sewer revenues to be collected could potentially jeopardize the grants and loans involved in the Town’s water and sewer improvement projects. Hamilton City Council gets new president

The Hamilton City Council elected Jenny West as its new Council President at its January 4 meeting. West nominated Nancy Hendrickson for the position and Hendrickson nominated West. They each made remarks in support of the other. West was elected in a secret (paper) ballot by a vote of 3 to 2 with one abstention. More...
