County examines emergency response

The Ravalli County Commissioners met with officials from the Public Health Department, the Department of Disaster and Emergency Services and Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital last week to discuss emergency response procedures. More...


District Court Judge James A. Haynes was elected to another six-year term as Department #2 Judge for the 21st Judicial District in Ravalli County. Although his formal swearing in ceremony in the courtroom on Thursday was a bit late, he assured those witnessing the event that he had already supplied the Secretary of State with a signed oath in a timely manner. Haynes told those present that his job could not be done without a lot of help from qualified people in the courthouse including his Court Administrator, Court Reporter, Staff Attorney, and security provided by the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office. He thanked them all.

New members appointed to County Planning Board

The Ravalli County Commissioners appointed five new members to the Ravalli County Planning Board on Monday.

Unanimous votes for approval were made following motions to appoint Jim Dawson as the Lone Rock School District Representative, Cheryl Tenold as the Stevensville School District Representative, and to reappoint Mary Lee Bailey as the Victor School District Representative. More...


Holcomb appointed to Stevi Council

Robin Holcomb was appointed to the Ward 1 Council seat on the Stevensville Town Council on Monday evening. She is filling the seat vacated by Susan Evans. Evans’ seat became open when she was appointed Mayor following the resignation of former Mayor Bill Meisner. Holcomb will serve the remainder of the term which expires on December 31, 2009.
