Legal Notice

The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) will conduct a public hearing for a conservation easement proposed through Ravalli County’s Open Lands Bond Program. The proposal is known as the Wood Family Ranch and is composed of three properties totaling 265 acres. The properties consist of 199 acres of irrigable pasture and approximately 66 acres of dry pasture. The properties are located northeast of Corvallis off Eastside Highway. Parcel one (1) is located on North Birch Creek Road while Parcel two (2) and three (3) are on Wood Lane. (See Map) Parcel One is described as The West 86 feet of the NW1/4, SW1/4 Section 34, Township 8 North, Range 20 West P.M.M. Parcel two is described as The NW1/4 and the NE1/4 of Section 3, Township 7 North, Range 20 West P.M.M.. Parcel three is described as Lots 21, 22, 23 and 24 of Block 4 and Lots 13, 14 and 15, Block 19, Mountain View Orchards, SW1I4 of Section 3 and the NWl/4 of Section 10, all in Township 7 North, Range 20 West, P.M.M, Ravalli County Montana. The applicants are Janet Currie Wood and Laurie Wood-Gundlach. The Sponsoring Organization is the Bitterroot Land Trust. Information describing the proposal is available for inspection at the Planning Department, in the County Administrative Center, 215 S. 4th Street, Suite F, Hamilton, MT 59840. Written comments are encouraged to be submitted to the Planning Department prior to the public hearing and will be forwarded to the BCC for consideration at the public hearing.

The BCC will conduct a public hearing on this proposal on Monday, January 12, 2009, at 2:00 PM in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room. The public may comment verbally or in writing at the hearing. Comments and information submitted at the public hearing will be considered in the decision on the Wood Family Ranch Conservation Easement.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

MONDAY, JANUARY 12, 2009
7:00 p.m.

Notice is hereby given that a public meeting will be held on Monday January 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers located at 206 Buck Street in Stevensville, Montana to discuss pending and potential applications to USDA Rural Development for Loan and Grant funding to: Make improvements to the Town of Stevensville’s Water System, for the purpose of installing water meters on 315 non-metered services, install a radio read system and move to monthly billing; install 4500 lf of 20” water main backbone in Middle Burnt Fork Road; develop production wells to 1500 gpm and 225 million gallons annually with a booster station and back up power; construct a new one million gallon level storage tank and replace or install 8,144 lf of pipeline to maintain system fire flows and accommodate the maximum per day usage.

The Council requests the residents of the Town of Stevensville to provide comment on the above proposed undertakings for the Town of Stevensville. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the Town of Stevensville at P.O. Box 30, Stevensville, MT 59870 until January 12, 2009. A copy of the application for the above items will be available for review during the meeting.

Arrangement to reasonably accommodate the special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter, will be made upon receiving 24 hour advance notice, contact the town clerk at (406) 777-5271.

A public comment period will be held during the meeting.
