Stevensville coach resigns
Stevensville girls basketball coach Jon Vercruyssen has resigned, according to Stevensville Athletic Director Keith Chambers. Brandon Day will take over as interim head coach with Jonna Davis and Bill Fulbright assisting.

Darby sled dog race scheduled
The 4th Annual Darby Dog Derby Sled Dog Race is scheduled for January 15-16 at the Nez Perce Road snowmobile parking lot near Darby. The Darby Dog Derby is a sled dog race put on by the Bitterroot Mushers, in association with the Montana Mountain Mushers. Montana Mountain Mushers is a non-profit group which promotes the ethical treatment of sled dogs and multi-use of the winter trails. Sled dog racing is a healthy winter family activity, which brings not only racers but also spectators to the valley. Sled dog racers are a diverse group who travel many miles across states and Canada to attend races. The Darby Dog Derby caters to all experience levels including juniors, seasoned veterans and beginners of all ages just trying dog sledding for the first time.
