Local sanctuary helps unwanted llamas find homes

Children who gathered for story time recently on the lawn of the Bitterroot Public Library got the added thrill of being able to pet some adorable llamas. The llamas arrived courtesy of Safe Haven Llama & Alpaca Sanctuary & Adoptions, a non-profit sanctuary for unwanted llamas and alpacas located in Corvallis. More...

County Attorney candidate addresses bankruptcy issue

The Ravalli County Fish and Wildlife Association (RCFWA) sponsored a forum for commissioner candidates and county attorney candidates on September 7 in Hamilton to give the public a glimpse of what these candidates think about issues related to wildlife and conservation. More...


Flu vaccines available

As flu season approaches, the Ravalli County Health Department is gearing up to see that valley residents are protected. The office is accepting appointments every Monday at the Health Department office located in the county courthouse building. They are also planning two clinics in the community at large, one at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hamilton on Friday, October 15 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and a second at the Corvallis Methodist Church from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29. At the health office on Mondays, vaccines are administered through the entire day by appointment. More...


Rehberg holds panel session on wolves

Congressman Denny Rehberg came to Hamilton last Tuesday and hosted a panel of local people interested in talking to him about the wolf problem in the Bitterroot. He also invited the general public to listen and respond. He is currently pushing legislation that would remove the Grey Wolf from the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in the region and return them to state control. More...
