The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Southwestern Land Office invites comments from interested parties, in compliance with the Montana Environmental Policy Act, regarding the possible sales, through the Land Banking program (MCA 77-2-361 through 77-2-367), of the following State School Trust Land.
A parcel of land located approximately eight miles east of Stevensville, MT is described as Section 36, Township 9 North – Range 19 West, containing 635 acres. This parcel is primarily forested and does not have legal public access.

PUBLIC COMMENT SOUGHT
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) seeks public comment on its proposal to acquire a public hunting access-right component of a conservation easement (CE) held by Bitter Root Land Trust (BRLT) on the Lazy J Cross Ranch (Ranch), east of Sula in Ravalli County. The purpose of the proposed project is to protect in perpetuity public hunting access on the Ranch and through the ranch property to adjacent Forest Service and Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation School Trust public lands, which encompass over 40,000 acres.
A draft environmental assessment (EA) has been prepared for this proposal. The EA may be viewed on FWP’s Internet website http://fwp.mt.gov (“News,” then “Public Notices,” beginning January 8, 2015).
