The Town of Stevensville is seeking qualified applicants to serve as Ward 1 Councilperson for the Town of Stevensville. The Councilperson for Ward 1 shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Stevensville Town Council during an open, public meeting and will serve in this interim position until December 31,2015. Ward One is that portion of the town lying north of Fifth Street, generally along a line extending from Main Street easterly to the town limits at Logan Lane, as well as that portion of the town lying north of Central Avenue, generally along a line extending from Main Street westerly to the town limits.
Qualified applicants must be 18 years old, United States Citizens and a resident for at least 60 days preceding the election to office of the ward electing him/her of an area which has been annexed by the Town and placed in the ward. (MCA 7-4-4112 and Stevensville Municipal Code 2-54).
Interested persons must submit an application, resume, and a signed release of information along with a letter expressing why they are interested in serving on the Town Council. Application packets may be picked up at Town Hall, 206 Buck Street, Stevensville, by emailing Town Clerk at c1erk@townofstevensville.com or on the Town’s website, www.townofstevensville.com.
