Someday, one day, any day that comes along
I’ll promise to finish that task, providing nothing goes wrong.
I made that promise a long time past
It didn’t get done because time passed so fast.
So many things needed to be done every day
Finish all without delay; barely enough time to play.
Soon I’ll retire from a job I’ve been at, what seems forever
I never really had a good chance to get my act together.
Soon I can sit on the couch and think and plan what I’ll do
And anytime I want, I’ll go to the fridge and grab a brew.
Oh a life of ease is what I foresee
I’ll even study astrology to learn my destiny.
Oh! I almost forgot about the task that needed to be done
Truthfully, I’d much rather bask in the sun.
I’ll wait for awhile and think about all I have to do
I don’t think that particular task now is such a big issue.
