The Bitterroot Red Sox won the American Legion Class A West District Championship on Sunday, July 27 in Whitefish. They defeated the Bitterroot Bucs 6-3 in the championship game to claim the title.
The Red Sox won four straight games at the tournament. They defeated the Glacier Twins 5-4 in their opening game, then defeated the Kalispell Lakers 10-0 in the second game, then in the undefeated semifinal game they routed the Bucs 10-0, and finally, they met the Bucs again in the championship game and won 6-3.

Both the Red Sox qualified for the Class A State Legion Tournament in Conrad on Wednesday, July 30 to Sunday, August 3. The Red Sox are the #1 seed from the West. The Red Sox play the Miles City Mavericks on July 30 at 1 p.m.
Red Sox 6, Bucs 3
In the championship game on Sunday, July 27, the Red Sox defeated the Bucs 6-3. The Red Sox scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to break a 3-3 tie and earn the victory. At the plate for the Red Sox, Jackson Lubke went 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs, Cash Lawrence went 2 for 4, stole 2 bases and scored 3 runs, and Boedy Tadvick went 2 for 3 with an RBI.
Red Sox 10, Bucs 0
In the undefeated semifinal on Saturday, July 26, the Red Sox defeated the Bucs 10-0. Red Sox pitcher and Montana Baseball Gatorade Player of the Year Cash Lawrence struck out 5 batters and only allowed 2 hits over five innings. At the plate for the Red Sox, Reese Earp went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, Boedy Tadvick went 2 for 2, scored 2 runs and had an RBI, and Jude Widmer went 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
Red Sox 10, Kalispell Lakers 0
In their second round game on Friday, July 25, the Red Sox defeated the Lakers 10-0. Red Sox pitcher Jackson Lubke got the shutout win. At the plate for the Red Sox, Cash Lawrence went 3 for 3, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs, Elijah McNair-Neal went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs, and Reese Earp went 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Red Sox 5, Glacier Twins 4
In their opening round game on Thursday, July 24, the Red Sox beat the Twins 5-4. Red Sox pitcher Trevyn Bakken came in as relief for the final three innings and didn’t allow a run or a hit. At the plate for the Red Sox, Jackson Lubke went 4 for 4 and had an RBI, Boedy Tadvick went 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs, and Cash Lawrence scored a run and had an RBI.
