The first 58 seconds of the Darby/Arlee game was almost as electric as the lightning that delayed the game for about 40 minutes on Friday night. The Tigers scored two times before a minute had expired in the game. Joe Caicedo hit Garrett McCormack for a 58-yard pass to the end zone for the first score. Caicedo kicked the PAT and the Tigers were on the board. A fumble by Arlee a few seconds later led to another score for Darby. Caicedo carried the ball in from six yards out for the six points and then kicked the PAT again. But then the Warriors went to town and scored four straight touchdowns and went on to win, 64-28. Caicedo had two more touchdowns for Darby, a 73-yard kickoff return and a 19-yard run for the end zone.

Hamilton held off Libby to win, 24-21, in a non-conference game in Hamilton. The Broncs scored first when Karill Apendaile kicked a 21-yard field goal. Libby’s Nic Robertson then found the end zone from one yard out. Hamilton’s Josh Bauder called his own number and ran in from seven yards out for the score. Apendaile kicked the PAT and Hamilton again had the lead. However Libby’s DJ Maesau caught a 36-yard pass from Jared Winslow to change the lead once again. Hamilton scored again in the third quarter when Teague Blome caught a 13-yard pass from Bauder. Then it was Kris Cleveland who was on the receiving end of Bauder’s 36-yard pass that put another six points on the board. Apendaile was perfect all night on his PAT attempts. Libby scored once more with just minutes remaining in the game but it was not enough and Hamilton had the win.

Stevensville picked up a 34-12 victory over the Frenchtown Broncs in more non-conference action. Jared Schultz had three scoring runs, one for six yards in the first quarter, another in the second quarter, again for six yards, and then one for three yards in the fourth quarter. Chris Bergman kicked a PAT on the first touchdown and the last. Zach Gavlak also scored for the ‘Jackets. He caught a 19-yard pass from Schultz for the score. Bryce Torrey caught a pass from Bergman for the two-point conversion. Kyle Behner had a one-yard run in the third quarter for another six points.

Polson defeated Corvallis, 28-6. Tanner Palin had a seven-yard scoring run for the Blue Devils in the fourth quarter. Florence fell to Bigfork, 20-0. Victor lowered the boom on Noxon, 64-12.
