County Treasurer Marie Keeton has submitted a letter of resignation to become effective at the end of the month. Keeton told the Bitterroot Star on Monday that her resignation had nothing to do with the job.
“I’ve been extremely happy with my job here at the county and I very much appreciate the opportunity that I was given to serve as Treasurer,” said Keeton. She said her reasons for resigning are personal and have to do with family issues.
The commissioners have scheduled a meeting on Wednesday, August 14 at 9 a.m. to discuss the resignation and the process to fill the position.
