Well, our Ravalli County Commissioners have done it again and voted against the overwhelming desire of the people by approving the Legacy Ranch subdivision. We can only hope that the State people have more intelligence than our local commissioners and turn this down.
One of our commissioners even went on television news saying this is a great thing for the county. I would like to know how this is a great thing. Maybe it is for the developer interests (which seem to prevail in our commissioners). Certainly it is not for the folks who live here and will have to fund the increases in schools, roads, law enforcement, fire departments, utilities, etc. We did not move to this county 24 years ago only to have a town developed next door.
I guess that “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” does not apply in Ravalli County.
I hope all of you will remember this elite group when they are up for re-election.
