BPL Herb Chat
An herb chat will be held Wednesday, May 29 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Bitterroot Public Library in the west meeting room. Jessica Thompson, Outlaw Herbalist, will discuss Spring Greens for Your Health. The first greens are popping their heads out of the ground after a long winter slumber. Did you know that these common lawn ‘weeds’ are actually revered for their culinary and healing properties? Do you have your own wild and weedy recipes? Bring your lunch. This event is free.
Drumming Circle
A Drum Circle with Tom Kresan and friends will be held Wednesday, May 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Drumming allows access to the universal heartbeat that exists within and around all things. Bring your drum, rattles, and other instruments and come be part of the fun. No drum? No worries! Drums will be available. Let your inner drummer out! MDMH blood drive
The American Red Cross strives to collect over 700 pints of blood to meet the needs of patients in this area alone. In the Montana service area every 27 minutes someone needs blood. Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital helps the Red Cross meet this need by sponsoring blood drives four times a year. The next scheduled MDMH Blood Drive will be on Thursday, May 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Conference Rooms B/C. This is the first MDMH sponsored blood drive of 2013. To schedule your blood drive appointment call Gary Schulz at 375-4451. Donors: remember to eat complete meals and drink plenty of water before donating blood and bring your identification. BPL book group
The Bitterroot Public Library in Hamilton will host a “Brown Bag It” Book Discussion Group on Thursday, May 30 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the west meeting room of the library. “The Garden of Evening Mists” by Tan Twan Eng will be discussed. Newcomers always warmly welcomed.

NVPL movie matinee
Stop by the North Valley Public Library on Saturday, June 1 at 12 noon for a free and fun flick. This week, the library features a popular new release starring Tom Cruise as author Lee Child’s title character. Contact the library for film title information. Marine Corps League breakfast
All Marines and FMF Corpsmen, along with spouses/friends, are invited to an SOS Breakfast on Saturday, June 1. Join with members of the Bitterroot Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League for Marine camaraderie and good food. This month’s breakfast will be held at the Sleeping Child Farms Restaurant, 1639 Sleeping Child Road in Hamilton. Other menu items will be available. Eagles events
The Eagles will hold an officer installation ceremony on Saturday, June 1 at 6 p.m. at the Aerie Hall to welcome and encourage the new Aerie and Auxiliary officers. A Mother/Father indoor picnic will follow at 6:45 p.m. The meal will include chicken, salads, fruit, baked beans and dessert. Cost is $3 per adult and $2 for under 8. The Center for Spiritual Living celebrates The Masculine Aspect of God, a presentation by Paul Feldman, on Sunday, June 2 at 10 a.m. The Universal Presence we call God can be experienced in both Divine Masculine and Feminine perspectives. Everyone is invited to hear this inspirational message. Meditation begins at 9:30. Delicious refreshments, hugs, and socializing follow the presentation.
