I was born in France in 1942 and our city, Vitry-le-Francois, Marne was bombed in 1944 and 93% destroyed. It was later rebuilt and it is a lovely community near the Champagne Country. I have been living in the USA since 1961, and I am now a U.S. citizen.
As I was pondering how to express my thanks to all the valiant U.S. soldiers for our liberation, I was overwhelmed by the inadequacy of using words to express gratitude for such a sacrifice. Please accept my heartfelt thanks for all that you have done for us in France in 1944-45. Wishing you all God’s blessings! (3 John 2.)
I would especially like to thank the five Montanans who just received the French Medal of Honor on Saturday, May 4 at the Ravalli County Veterans Memorial in Hamilton.
