Cindy Fifield

January 24, 2024 by Editor

Cindy Lucy Fifield, 64, passed away at St. Pat’s Providence Hospital in Missoula on January 18, 2024, from natural causes.  She was the fourth of four children born to Charles and Evelyn (Harrington) Fifield on September 17, 1959.  She lived with her family on a farm north of Darby.  She was active in 4-H and various school doings.  After graduation from Darby High School, she attended the Missoula Vo-Tech and then worked at Bob Ward and Sons, several nursing homes, and for the last eighteen years, she was employed by Walmart.

She remained single, but always had a cat or two curled up on her lap or taking up room on her bed.  Her kind heart extended to the occasional neighborhood stray that would show up on her doorstep.

Cindy had a love of plants and spent the winter months poring over seed catalogs, dreaming about her next project in her flower gardens.

Christmas was a big deal to her, and she made sure she had the most special and appreciated gifts under the tree for her family.  She always made sure there were great appetizers before and dessert after the Christmas Eve dinner at her mom’s with family.

She will be greatly missed, especially her cheery voice mail, “It’s just me.  I’ll talk to you when I do!”

Cindy was preceded in death by her father Charles.  She is survived by her mother Evelyn, sisters Julie (Tom) Long and Susan (Paul) Jensen, brother Bob (Karen) Fifield, nephews W.C. and Rob (Donna) Fifield, niece Nikki Jensen, great niece Locea Fifield, and her friends at Walmart and around Missoula.

Funeral services will be held January 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Daly Leach Chapel in Hamilton with a reception following in the funeral homes community room.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bitterroot Humane Society.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
