Virgil Mark Tye

December 14, 2022 by Editor

Hamilton – Virgil Mark Tye, 78, of Hamilton passed away Tuesday Dec 6, 2022 at St. Patrick Hospital.  He was born May 15, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Mark was raised in the state of Washington. After graduating from high school he joined the Washington National Guard where he served for 6 years, achieving the rank of E5 in Specialty Communication. He went to work for AT&T/Pacific NW Bell as an Electronic Technician. Upon retiring in 1998 he chose Darby, Montana to move to, and in a short time moved to Hamilton.

Mark loved to tell of his motorcycle and bicycle adventures with his friends. He became a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and served with a true Servant Heart as their Head Trustee. He was involved in disaster relief response, and helped perform “mini” mercy projects within our community, Minnesota & Louisiana.

It was at Grace Lutheran that he met the love of his life Catherine Borgen. After a very special courtship they married on March 9, 2019. They were blessed with 3 ½ beautiful memory filled years, too short for such a great love.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Tye of Hamilton; Laurie and husband Frank Gallaway of Hamilton; George Borgen, Chelle Rose and Chloee, Kyle Borgen, Allison and husband Nike Riley and son Odin Ray of Hamilton; David and Sheila Borgen, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lilly and Ehli of Alabama; sister, Linda and husband Perry Grover, Chris and Svea Grover, Ava and Anja of Oregon; Todd and wife Ellen Grover, Peter and Evan of Oregon.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church (275 Hattie Lane, Hamilton) with a reception to follow the  service at Grace Lutheran.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lyle Kohs, Chris Grover and Todd Grover. Pallbearers will be Perry Grover, George Borgen, David Borgen, Kyle Borgen, Frank Gallaway.

Family suggests that memorials be made to Grace Lutheran Church Child Care-TLC. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
