Stevensville – Leona Mary (Hiller) James, Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Friend. Leona passed away peacefully in her home on July 30th, at the age of 86. Leona was born in Lewistown, Montana to Aldis Albert and Leona Mary Hiller, on September 5, 1935. After spending her early childhood in various towns in Montana, Leona and family moved to Stevensville, MT. It’s here where she and her husband Bud would meet and later settle down. Leona and Bud got married on April 6, 1952 in Missoula, MT.
Leona was a caring and doting mother and grandmother. She is known among her family and friends as an amazing cook and a wonderful artist. She was a woman of great faith and a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stevensville. Leona was preceded by her parents, Aldis and Leona Hiller, brother Delbert Hiller, sister Francis Hammer and infant daughter Elizabeth Ann. She is survived by husband of 70 years, Lloyd “Bud” James, son David James (Julie), grandson Josh James (Adrianna), brothers Larry Hiller (Irene), Arvid “Butch” Hiller (Lynn), Forrest Hiller (Vicky), and sisters Shirley Zigmund (Chuck), Vicky Boyd (Bill), Reho Barron and Ardie Ommundson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends in Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 184 Pine Hollow Road, Stevensville at 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, 3 Mile Creek Road, Stevensville. Please join us after the graveside services at Lone Rock Bible Church, 1142 3 Mile Creek Rd, Stevensville for food and celebration.
