Stevensville – Pastor Rick Hixon went home to be with Jesus on May 17, 2022 at the age of 60. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Valerie Hixon, his two sons Tony (Jessie) and Josh (Kayla), as well as his 5 grandchildren. Pastor Rick was born December 18, 1961 in San Diego. He moved to the Bitterroot while still in high school and has lived here ever since. Rick and Valerie were married in 1988. He worked alongside his dad, Tim Turner in the machine shop for many years. Rick helped his wife establish Morning Star Caffeine and Cuisine in 2011. Rick was an active member in the community throughout his life, spending time as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including disc golfing, shooting, and hunting as well as summer vacations spent fishing with his best friends in Alaska. Pastor Rick spent many years as an associate pastor at Cornerstone Bible Church, where he was an active part of the worship team. He also played bass guitar with “By Still Waters,” where they traveled around and ministered to many people through their music. Rick very much loved and enjoyed spending time with his wife, five grandkids and two sons. Rick was preceded in death by his son Nathan Paul Hixon. Pastor Rick was deeply loved and will be missed by many. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 28 at 1:00pm at Cornerstone Bible Church, 280 Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton.
